Drop.io is the simplest way to share files online.Simply set up a private space to drop any files by phone, email, web, widget or fax and then share them with whoever you want via a variety of outputs.

A drop is a chunk of space you can use to store and share anything privately (pictures, videos, audio, documents, etc.), without accounts, registration, or an email address. Drops are not “searchable” and not “networked;” they just exist online as private points for exchange between individuals or groups.  Create as many drops as you want in as little as two clicks and set things like a password, whether others can add to the drop, and how long you want it to exist (you can renew later).

Drops can be flexibly used in a range of ways from sharing family photos and videos to collaborating on group projects. Each drop has five primary input methods – the web, email, voice, fax and a FireFox 3 add on – in addition to a few secondary ones like “widgets.” Anything you input into a drop can then be retrieved on the web at that drop location.

Also, you can do cool things like: A. Create new drops quickly/ via phone: (Email/MMS new@drop.io to create drops on the fly) B. Download as zip file: click download as zip and download the whole drop at once C. Drop.io on your phone: type in your drop’s name in your phone’s browser. For example, www.drop.io/dropname/m will format the drop for your phone.

Now you can use drop.io from anywhere. And that is just the tip of the iceberg Drop.io is rooted in a model which highlights trust and transparency with the intent of minimizing the amount of information needed to share privately. It does not require embedded accounts, identity, search, or any other social elements. Its core philosophy is to create a simple, private system based on inputs and outputs. Users send “in” files (documents, images, videos, audio files, archives, and more) via various methods (web, mms, email, phone and fax) into their “Drops.” Once in the drops, users can view their content and move it “out” via the web, email, mms, fax, custom twitter messaging, and dropcasting (podcasting).

Co-op is a great idea for the workplace so that anyone can view everyone’s status without disrupting anyone or having to leave your desk. 

Ravi needs a designer for an hour to complete a small task, but he checks the resourcing spreadsheet and everyone looks booked. Instead of running over to the creative suite and asking around to see who’s currently working on what, Ravi could login to Co-op and glance at the designer’s status messages. In Co-op he can see that Kat is already focused on a project with an end-of-day delivery, while Casey is working on an internal project and appears to have more availability.

Per vedere le fotografie, gli scatti dell’estate, dell’ultima festa, anzi un dispositivo semplice per avere sotto gli occhi i ricordi, le memories digitali e quelle – condivise in rete – dei nostri amici e dei nostri cari.
No, la Kodak Easy Share W1020 non è solo una semplice photoframe: è, invece, un vero e proprio internet device. Senza fili. Si collega a internet e permette di accedere non solo alle proprie fotografie memorizzate internamente, o via Wifi a quelle conservate sul disco fisso del personal computer, ma anche – ed è qui il bello – a quelle caricate su Flickr.
La Easy Share W1020 è, infatti, una cornice 2.0: permette di vedere e condividere le fotografie su Flickr oltre che sulla Kodak Gallery. Non solo foto, ma anche notizie in tempo reale confezionate a misura di cornice. E questo grazie al collegamento, sempre via rete wireless domestica, con FrameChannel. In questo modo si apre una vera finestra sul mondo: notizie di cronaca, politiche o sportive e, persino, previsioni meteo e accesso ai siti internet dedicati alla condivisione e al social networking.
Il tutto senza accendere il pc, risparmiando tempo, energia e riducendo la complessità d’uso. La cornice monta un display da dieci pollici (250 euro, ma è disponibile anche la variante da otto pollici (W820, 200 euro). La memoria interna è di 512 megabyte, ma può essere espansa con schede di memoria. Sono presenti due slot: per il formato Sd e Mmc. I comandi sono a sfioramento. Basta toccare i bordi per controllare le funzioni. Se ci si chiede perché mai non sia stato utilizzato un touch display, la risposta è semplice: con troppe ditate e impronte le foto mica si possono vedere bene. E se le immagini, le notizie e il meteo non bastano: allora entrano in campo video e Mp3. Riproduce infatti filmati e brani musicali e vi sono anche prese per cuffie o per collegare altoparlanti esterni. Molto più di una cornice. Quasi un pc che si appende.

Good Life social ecology è una realtà organizzata come proprietà condivisa di spazi domestici, servizi e mezzi di trasporto. Gli abitanti condividono un obiettivo comune di cambiare i propri stili di vita in favore della costitituzione di una comunità sostenibile.
Ogni cluster di co-housing condivide e mantiene un giardino, un orto, un area pubblica. Le proprietà individuali sono organizzate attorno a corti, considerate come living room esterne. Turre le attività di mantenimento e sviluppo sono gestite dalla comunità mentre le abitazioni sono autonome da un punto di vista del consumo di energia. Persino l’approvvigionamento è gestito in comune attraverso un sistema di gruppi di acquisto.

L’interesse di questo progetto sta nell’interesse a creare un “sistema” autosufficiente nel quale gli abitanti sono attivamente coinvolti nella sua crescita e mantenimento. Considerato come stimolo concettuale , può essere preso in considerazione per progetti che tengono l’utente stesso al centro del sistema di prodotto/servizio.
